High/Low is a flexible, lightweight, narrative-focused tabletop roleplaying game designed to make it easy, fast, and fun to create exciting stories with your friends using a small number of simple rules and mechanics and a few 6-sided dice.
The core rules are available in two formats: HTML for reading via web browser, and PDF for printing (on A5 paper, intended for two-sided printing).
There aren't a lot of brand-new ideas here, if any. Many aspects of High/Low were inspired by, modified from, or outright copied from the following great open-source TTRPGs that are worth checking out:
High/Low is made available under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License, which means that you are free to share, copy, redistribute, adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, provided that you give appropriate credit and distribute the result under those same terms (read the license for the full details).
The original form of the rulebook is LaTeX source code, which can be compiled to generate PDF and/or HTML documents like the ones linked above. The source code is maintained in a Git repository, which can be cloned with the following command:
$ git clone git://highlowrpg.org/highlow.gitDetailed compilation instructions can be found in the file called
README
within the repository.
